Do They Really Love You? What True Love Looks Like 1 Cor 13:4-8

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing well. Welcome to a new month! Over the next few weeks, I will be diving deeper into the topic of marriage and divorce. After reading the comments on my blog post, Marriage is Sacred and Binding , I realized there are important topics that we need to explore. While I hold the sanctity of marriage in the highest regard, I’ve received several questions about divorce that I feel compelled to address, using the Word of God as my guide. I do not have all the answers, but I’m learning more each day, and my goal is to approach this topic from a biblical perspective. I encourage you to join me on this journey, seeking God’s wisdom together on the topic of marriage and divorce. I want to start the series by discussing "Love." Love is a word that is used casually in today’s world. We hear it in songs, see it in movies, and even use it in conversations without always considering the depth of its meaning. "I love your pants," "I l...

This post looks at scriptures that generally speak about Love.  1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." John 15:12-13 - "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." 1 John 4:8 - "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." Romans 12:9-10 - "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing h...

10 Scriptures on God's Love

T he month of February brings a lot of anticipation about Valentine's Day. There are Christians that choose to celebrate it and then there are others that do not. Whatever your decision or stance may be, I encourage you to think about the origins of Love, the originator of Love with is our Heavenly Father. There is no greater love than the love He has shown us and continues to show us.  Here are 10 scriptures on God's love: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Ephesians 2:4-5 - "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our tre...

If we love one another, God abides in us 1 John 4:12

Image
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 1 John 4:12      How do we know that God abides in us? We know when we truly love one another and show each other love using Him as a prime example. We have not seen God but we have seen His love therefore through showing us what love is we can show others love as well. It will be perfected in us or be complete when it is genuine and true.      Brothers and sisters, let's truly learn to love each other so that God may abide in us. Let us each day strive to make our temples (our hearts, souls, minds, and bodies) more hospitable for Him to live in. The only way we can do this is by doing what His word says. God bless you!

God is love

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 Ever wondered why some people cannot love or are unfamiliar with love? It's because they have not experienced the love of God or do not know how much God loves them. That's why knowledge of God's love is so important. It will save you from making a lot of mistakes.   Read the bible, learn of God's love, and then when you love even if it is not returned you will know within yourself that you know what it truly means to love.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 I hope we can appreciate the type of love God has for us. Nothing can separate us from His love -NOTHING. That is how great His love is for us, who else do you know can boast of such love? -NOBODY.  Sometimes we have to be told we are loved and shown we are loved before we understand the magnitude of that love but God tells us repeatedly and shows us over and over. Want to understand His love, read the bible, the best love story of all time. Thank you Father for loving us so much!
